Harps talks all things optical with the ladies of Cotswolds Radio!

On Friday 17th June, Harps travelled to the Old Prison in Northleach to meet Annabelle Belcher and her panel at Cotswolds Women for a live interview on Cotswolds Radio. From basic eye care guidance through to styling tips and advice, this isn't something you will want to miss!

Harps took the interview in her stride and we think you'll agree that she totally rocked it!

The backstory? Annabelle reached out to Harps on social media to see if she would be interested in joining the show, and she was over the moon when Harps cleared her diary to make sure she was there, with bells on, of course!

Cotswolds Radio

First broadcast in October 2020, the show was an unmissable opportunity for Harps to share her expertise in optometry, eye fashion, and talk to the local community about how Harper and Cooper are not your average opticians.

If you missed the interview, here's a summary for you - in no particular order...

Eye Health

Eyecare is really important, especially as you get older and your eyes start deteriorate, which happens around the age of 40.

" Think of an eye test as an MOT for your eyes."

You can look after your eyes with a good diet. Omega 3 supplements can help keep your eyes healthy.

Styling Tips & Trends

Large lenses and frames are on trend, as are fine metals. 70’s and 80’s styles - think Robert Redford in the 70’s.

Colour is a big deal with frames. If you have dark colouring like Harps then bright, vivid colours look great!

Face shape will largely determine which frames will suit you best. Some people are lucky enough to be able to rock all styles!

" Don’t settle for these frames will do."

You deserve better than that. We instil that in all our patients – at least we really hope we do. The energy that we give across makes this easy.

We ask our customers questions which they may not expect, such as ‘what do you want people to think when they see you in your glasses?'

"Break the rules with sunglasses! It doesn’t matter if you have a small face - go oversized to maximise coverage and UV protection."

Family Eye-Care

Harper & Cooper Family Photoshoot

Children should have their eyes tested from the age of three or four. Eye tests for children under 16 are free on the NHS.

The earlier we start to see children, the earlier we can detect any issues and provide any necessary interventions.

We advise that children wear sunglasses, even when it's overcast.

Children are exposed to 80% of UV light by the time they are 18.

We stock children’s sunglasses that are unbreakable, aswell as the revolutionary Hoya lens, which designed to fit a child's active life, works to slow down the effects of shortsightedness.

The Harper and Cooper Way

Harper & Cooper Team

Harps and Dips always thought there was room for a fun, family fun boutique opticians in Cheltenham – different to your normal 'run of the mill' opticians.

Graduating some 20 years ago (I know, can you believe it - they look so good for their age!), Harps and Dips have always worked together in some way and have dreamt of opening a business together where they could share their passion for helping people to look and feel great!

So, what makes us different?

At Harper & Cooper we are very particular about what we order, and we make a big point of choosing frames with our customers in mind.

Patients want continuity, which helps build customer trust. As a team of three, we are lucky that we can offer a personalised service.

Be sure to listen to the full interview for hear all of Harps' eye-care advice, styling tips, and how Harper & Cooper are not your regular opticians!
